Kit Carson Tournament

Kit Carson Area 2E & 2F All Star Tournament

GOALIES - There has been some confusion regarding how long a goalie can be in the goal (likely due to restrictions at Cookie's Best).  For Kit Carson, there is no rule regarding how long a goalie can be in goal at any age level, as long as the coach follows the 3 before 4 rule regarding substitutions.

The Kit Carson Area 2E & 2F All Star Tournament is open to Select teams from Area 2E & 2F.  Kit Carson is an opportunity for players seeking a competitive play opportunity.  Players are selected based on skill and sportsmanship throughout the regular season.
Each Region may submit teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U age divisions.

The 2019 Kit Carson Area 2E & 2F All Star Tournament will be Saturday & Sunday, November 2 & 3, 2019 at Pete Livermore Sports Complex in Carson City, NV.

A mandatory coach check-in will be held on Friday, November 1 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the
Hampton Inn at 10 Hospitality Way, Carson City, NV 89706.

Sierra and Cascade Divisions: What does that mean?

All Stars is one of the few times when AYSO coaches get to select their team.  They get to choose the best players in their division and take that team to head to head competition with other AYSO regions.  To that end, we recommend regions send the best team they can make to the Kit Carson All Star Tournament.

Some regions have an abundance of strong players and can send two teams in an age group.  When that happens, the region sends their strongest team to the Sierra division for a higher level of play and the other team to the Cascade division.  Some regions that can only send one team have fewer kids to feed their All Star team and have difficulties competing in the Sierra division.  To comply with our Balanced Teams philosophy, we move those teams to the Cascade division so the games are more even (to minimize blow-outs) creating a more exciting game.

We do our best to take coach, referee and regional board input as well as historical results to determine the best division for each team.  We don’t always get it right and are often limited by the teams that register- but for the most part, we think this year’s tournament will be an exciting, fun-filled weekend!
